GEORGE FLETCHER GLOVER Died, in Chuckatuck, Va., on the 7th of April, 1880, Doctor George Fletcher Glover, in the 24th year of his age. The melancholy tidings of the death of this noble, high-minded and worthy young man spread over the surrounding country this morning, and cast a gloom of sadness over the faces of numerous friends, the older of whom had known and loved him from infancy to his demise. Those with whom he lived and had been intimately associated for several years had feared, ere he arrived to senility, a fatal issue of his malady, but really had not anticipated it so early. But alas! The "wan archer" would not stay his icy grasp, and selected this brilliant mark at which to aim his "ruthless shaft". Ten years only have elapsed since Azriel entered his boyhood home and snatched from his youthful breast the joy and protection of fond and loving parents, and now, at this early day, in the bloom and buoyancy of manhood, he (death), with his sickle keen, cuts down him, the only surviving son, with gilded hopes and bright promises within his grasp, to rest with loved ones gone before on "Jordan’s sunny plains." But two short years had swiftly sped by since he graduated in his profession, and, notwithstanding he was only (as it were) an embryo in the healing art, his success and demeanor, possessing as he did sound judgment and quick perception, with a kind, genial and amiable character, not only won the highest and most flattering medical distinction, but the respect, esteem and admiration of all who knew him. During these few years of lifts career humanity, in all phases of suffering, found in him a willing advocate and a ready contributor. No breath of accusation ever dimmed the luster of his character nor marred the radiance of his countenance. He left the world, it is believed, without an enemy pure and spotless. Friends mourn his loss but murmur not. "Tis all with Thee" L.J.D., ELMWOOD, VA.
