She was a native of Eclipse. She had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Joseph J. Glover; one daughter, Marie Coley Riddick of Suffolk; one brother, Ernest L. Hazelwood of Richmond; and two grandsons. Arrangements are pending. Memorial donations may be made to the Bennett's Creek Rescue Squad. The family will be the residence, 8812 Carter's Cove Rd. R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ****************************************************************************** Woman killed in accident A Suffolk woman was killed and two men were injured Sunday in a two-vehicle accident on Bridge Road. Grace H. Glover, 75, of the 8800 block of Carter's Cove Road, died at Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth about one hour after the 12:30 p.m. accident at Bridge Road and Upton Place, police said. She was transported to the hospital by the Bennett's Creek Rescue Squad. Glover was the driver of a 1982 Oldsmobile sedan that was struck in the left side by a 1987 Ford pickup as she attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Bridge Road from Upton Place. The pickup, operated by Earl Holland Edwards Jr., 17, of Smithfield, was southbound on Bridge Road. A passenger in Glover's vehicle, Joseph J. Glover, 83, was reported in fair condition today at Maryview Hospital. Edwards received minor injuries in the accident, police said. Glover's vehicle was destroyed in the accident, police said. Estimated damage to Edwards' truck is $1,000. No citations were issued. ****************************************************************************** 2-vehicle accident leaves woman dead SUFFOLK - A 75-year-old Crittenden woman motorist was killed when she tried to cross Route 17 from the Sleepy Lake subdivion. Grace H. Glover, of the 8800 block of Carters Cove Road, died in Maryview Hospital about an hour after a 1967 pickup truck crashed into the left side of the car she was driving. Her husband, Joseph J. Glover, 83, who was a passenger in the car, was listed in fair condition in Maryview's intensive care unit on Monday. Earl Holland Edwards Jr., 17, of Route 4 in Smithfield, driver of the truck, escaped serious injury. According to police, Mrs. Glover left Upton Place in an attempt to cross the southbound lanes on Route 17, apparently planning to turn left and head north. The southbound pickup hit Mrs. Glover's car as it was about halfway across the two lanes. No charges have been filed the accident, which happened about 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
