NICOLETTA GENTILE GENTILE 

      Mrs. Nicoletta Gentile 

  Suffolk, Dec. 14. - Mrs. Nicolette Gentile, 67, widow of Nicholas Gentile, 
died today at noon at Buxton Hospital, Newport News, after a long illness. 
Surviving her is one son, Sam Gentile, of Philadelphia; also two 
grandchildren, Miss Dorothy Gentile, of Whaleyville, and Nicholas Gentile, of 
Philadelphia, and several nieces and nephews.  The body was brought Suffolk 
and taken to the home of her brother-in-law, Alexander Gentile, 201 South Main 
street. 

  Funeral services will be conducted with a high requiem mass at St. Mary's 
Catholic Church, Monday morning at 10 o'clock, by the Rev. Father M.F. Igoe. 
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

GENTILE FUNERAL RITES HELD TODAY 

Services at St. Mary's 
  Burial In Cedar Hill 

  Funeral services for Mrs. Nicolette Gentile, aged 87, who died Saturday 
morning at a Newport News hospital, were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 
today at 10 a.m.  Burial followed in Cedar Hill cemetery. 

  Mrs. Gentile had been ill for several weeks.  Her death was not unexpected 
by members of the family. 

  Surviving Mrs. Gentile are a son, Sam Gentile, of Philadelphia, and two 
grandchildren, Sam Gentile, Jr., of Philadelphia, and Dorothy Gentile, of 
Suffolk. 

  The funeral mass was conducted by the Rev. M.F. Igoe.  Members of St. Mary's 
choir, accompanied by Miss May O'Connor, sang several hymns.  The casket was 
covered with a pall of carnations and lilies.  There were many beautiful 
floral tributes. 

  Active pall-bearers included Frank P. Krise, R.D. Santo, James E. Babb, Jr., 
John J. Pohl, F.C. Patrick, Homer Brinkley, W.W. Ballard, Charles G. Thedieck.
