Boy Killed Accidentally; Rites Saturday 

  A 4-year-old Nansemond County boy reportedly was accidently shot to death 
Wednesday night in his home near Holland. 

  Jasper Gomer Jr. was dead on arrival at Southampton Memorial Hospital in 
Franklin with a gunshot wound in the chest. 

  He was the son of Jasper Stanley Gomer Sr. and Mary Ellen Crocker Gomer of 
Route 1, Holland. 

  Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother, Bryan Gregory Gomer of 
the home; his maternal grandparents, Morris J. Crocker, Windsor, and Margaret 
I. Crocker of Richmond; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gomer 
of Nansemond County; paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Gomer of 
Nansemond County; maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Lee Phippins, of Zuni; and 
a great-grandfather, Dennis Perry of Norfolk. 

  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sidney F. Harrell 
Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. R.T. Grissom.  Burial will be in Holly Lawn 
Cemetery.

D.Cert. 70-012922 states he died in a minute with of bullet wound to his 
   heart.
