Gray, 70, Refrigeration Man, Succumbs Funeral services for William Riddick Gray, refrigeration engineer for the Smithfield Packing company for 15 years, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Clarence England, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, Smithfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. Mr. Gray, 70, of Smithfield, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William C. Davenport, 416 Highland Ave., Suffolk, after a long illness. Before moving to Smithfield he worked 20 years as engineer at the Brinkley Ice Company in Suffolk. He was a native of Southampton county and husband of Mrs. Minnie Stone Gray of Smithfield. He was a son of Mills Riddick and Mrs. Addie Romine Crutchlow Gray and was a member of Trinity Methodist church, Smithfield. Other survivors are two foster daughters, Mrs. Robert Solomon of Suffolk and Mrs. Benjamin Edwards of Eclipse, a sister, Mrs. Eva Watkins of Texas, and two brothers, Robert S. Gray of Franklin and Fenton Gray of Richmond.
