ANNIE VIOLA HARRELL GRIFFIN 

      Mrs. Annie H. Griffin 

  Suffolk, Aug. 8 - Mrs. Annie Harrell Griffin, 66, formerly of Nansemond 
County, died of heart attack today at 2 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
Amy Griffin Cooper, 2023 Colorado Avenue, Portsmouth. 

  She was the widow of Benjamin Ocie Griffin, of Nansemond County, and the 
daughter of the late Walter S. and Mrs. Victoria Hayes Harrell, of Gates 
County, N.C.  She was a member of Providence Methodist Church. 

  She is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Josephine B. Griffin Jory, of 
Suffolk, and Mrs. Maude Griffin Young, of Franklin; five sons, B.R. Griffin, 
Jr., of Emporia; Thornton H. Griffin and J. Garland Griffin, of Suffolk; P. 
Ray Griffin, of Portsmouth, and Lewis M. Griffin, USNR, of Minneapolis; two 
sisters, Mrs. Eva Felton and Mrs. Ellen Felton, of Eure, N.C.; three brothers, 
Elijah and W.C. Harrell, of Holland, and 20 grandchildren. 

  Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home 
by the Rev. Starke Jett, Jr., pastor of Providence Methodist Church, and the 
Rev. A.L. Laine, pastor of Magnolia Methodist Church.  Burial will be in 
Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.

  Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Harrell Griffin, who died of a heart attack 
Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Amy Cooper, of Portsmouth, 
will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home by 
the Rev. A.L. Laine and Dr. Starke Jett, Jr.  Burial will take place in the 
Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
