ANNIE MAUDE ROSE GRIFFIN 

   WINDSOR - A funeral service for Mrs. Maude Rose Griffin, 82, of Windsor was 
held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. 
Arthur Knauer.

   Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of John Hudson Griffin 
and a daughter of John R.* and Mrs. Elizabeth Vaughan Rose.

   She was a member of Martha Persons Bible Class of Windsor Christian Church.

   Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Wilbur T. Thorpe of Norfolk; five sons Harry 
T. Griffin and Richard H. Griffin of Windsor, Wallace R. Griffin of Norfolk, 
Herbert W. Griffin of Richmond, and Dr. Francis F. Griffin of Virginia Beach; 
a sister Mrs. Lillian Uzzell of Windsor; 10 grandchildren and a great-
grandchild.

Her father's middle name varies in the records.  Maude's Va. Death Certificate 
   (#72-011211) gives John Randolph - the full name of her brother Randolph 
   (1895-1955), buried in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery, Collosse.
