GEORGE Funeral services for Thomas William George, Jr., will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Mr. George of 104 St. Ann Ave., Nansemond County, died Monday at 6:15 a.m. at Kecoughtan Veterans Hospital after an illness of four years. He was the son of Mrs. W.M. Writtenberry of Driver, Va., and the late William Thomas George [sic*] of Brunswick County, Va. He was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie C. George, four daughters, Mrs. Severn White, South Norfolk, Mrs. James Hill, Nansemond County, Mrs. Jack Crumpler, Suffolk and Miss Mary Alica George; three sons, William L. George and Raymond B. George, both of Holland, and Franklin Woodrow George of Nansemond Co.; two sisters, Mrs. C.T. Clary of Nansemond and Mrs. Frank J. Lassiter of Driver; one half brother, L.G. Writtenberry of Nansemond Co., and eight grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** Thomas W. George Buried Yesterday Funeral services for Thomas William George were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial was in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Mr. Brittle read two poems, "Crossing the Bar" and "The House By The Side of the Road." Mrs. J. Webb Pinner Jr. played two organ solos, "Heaven of Rest" and "Hills of Home." The casket was covered with a pall of red and white carnations. Pallbearers were J.D. Rawls, Marvin Reid Jr., Clinton Worrell, Robert Duke, Lewis Duke, C.W. Howell Jr., Wesley Hedgepeth and Willie Hedgepeth.
