All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CHARLES CHRISTOPHER GARDNER Portsmouth - Charlie Christopher Gardner, 69, husband of Mrs. Christmas Belle Gardner of 928 Holladay St., died Saturday at 6:10 p.m. at his home after a short illness. He was a retired employee of Portsmouth Transit Co. A native of Nansemond County, he was a son of the late George Washington Gardner and Mrs. Sarah Collins Gardner. He had lived in Portsmouth most of his life and was a member of America Lodge 330, AF&AM, Portsmouth Scottish Rites Bodies and Khedive Temple of the Shrine. Besides his wife, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gordon Simmons of Norfolk and Mrs. Robert A. Parsons Jr. of Portsmouth; one sister, Mrs. R.A. Harrell of Suffolk; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
