ELIZABETH LAVINIA HAYES GARDNER

   Suffolk, Sept. 24 - Mrs. Elizabeth L. Gardner, wife of James E. Gardner, 
died this morning at her home near Five Forks, Nansemond County, aged 46 
years.  Mrs. Gardner is survived by her husband, James E. Gardner, three 
daughters, Mrs. Maria Tobey, of Norfolk; Misses Lavinia and Elizabeth Gardner; 
three sons, Nelson, Willie and James E. Gardner; two grandchildren, Mary and 
Manley Tobey; three brothers, A.W. Hayes, W.R. Hayes and C.H. Hayes, all of 
Franklin.  The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at 
Beaver Dam Church.
