Gardner, committed suicide by blowing his brains out with a pistol. He kept a small grocery, and has been suffering with a brain affection for several years. He was about thirty years of age, and leaves a young wife, but no children. When found he was lying on a bed in the back room of his store, his hand badly burned with powder and the top of his head blown off. He transacted business as usual up to within a few minutes of his death, and had sent his clerk out on an errand when the deed was committed. Josephus H.
