A native of Hobbsville, he was the husband of Ida Maey Riddick Hobbs. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, by the Revs. Bob Estes and Himes Adams, with Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, in charge. The family will be at Route 1, Box 228, Corapeake. Mr. Hobbs had retired from Norfolk Naval Air Station. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of Ocean View Baptist Church. Other survivors include two stepsons, James R. Hobbs of Suffolk and Walter E. Hobbs of Corapeake; a sister, Nina Hobbs of Hobbsville; and two brothers, J.H. Hobbs of Madison, Va., and Horace G. Hobbs of Hobbsville. ****************************************************************************** Wade Hobbs NORFOLK - Wade Hampton Hobbs, 76, of 195 W. Randall Ave., died July 6, 1986, in Louise Obibi Memorial Hospital. A native of Hobbsville, N.C., he was the son of the late Alfred Hobbs and Julia Blanchard Hobbs. He had retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ida Riddick Hobbs; two step-sons, James R. Hobbs of Suffolk and Walter E. Hobbs of Corapeake, N.C.; a sister, Nina Hobbs of Hobbsville; and two brothers, J.H. Hobbs of Madison and Horace G. Hobbs of Hobbsville. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Revs. Bob Ested and Hines Adams. The family will be at Rt 1, Box 228, Corapeake. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements. Walter & Wade's parents were buried on the family farm on Trotville Rd. When the farm was sold, they were moved to Hobbsville Baptist Church Cemetery, Hobbsville, NC.
