ELIZABETH A. RICHARDSON HICKS 

        MRS. BETTIE HICKS 

  Suffolk, Va., Jan. 21. - Mrs. Bettie Hicks, an esteemed lady of Crittenden, 
Va., died in her home in the county, yesterday morning in the 72nd year of her 
age. 

  She is survived by five sons, J.W. Hicks, W.A. Hicks, C.P. Hicks, W.H. 
Hicks, and H.H. Hicks, and one daughter, Miss Beatrice Hicks.  The funeral 
services were held this afternoon at the Crittenden Christian church, 
conducted by Rev. G.R. Roode. 

  The pall bearers were C.E. Murteague, W.L. Moger, L.A. Hoge, J.C. Hillian, 
Lee Anderson, H.K. Anderson. 

  The interment was made in the Crittenden cemetery.

   RICHARDSON. 

Her m.rec. gives her mother as Joanna. 

Her half-brother Robert Pryor RICHARDSON (1858 - 1922) is also buried there, 
   unmarked. 

Her husband was a Confederate veteran, having served in the James City 
   Artillery - Co. H (1st), 32nd VA Infantry, as Orderly Sergeant.
