Floyd Hayes of the Suffolk police department received word this morning of the sudden death of his brother, George V. Hayes, 42, of Washington, D.C., who died of a heart attack there this morning. Mr. Hayes was the son of Charles T. Hayes, who survives him. He was a native of Nansemond County and had lived in Suffolk until about 15 years ago, when he moved to Washington. In addition to his wife and one son, he is also survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. T.H. Fowler, Whaleyvllle, Mrs. E.L. Wright, Hodginsville, Ky.; and Miss Naomi Hayes of Suffolk. Surviving brothers, other than Sgt. Hayes, are: T.O. and H.G. Hayes, Hampton, and Julius R. Hayes, of Suffolk. The body will be brought to the I.O. Hill Funeral Home and funeral arrangements will be announced later. ****************************************************************************** George Hayes' Body to Arrive The body of George V. Hayes, who died suddenly Friday morning in Washington, D.C., will arrive in Suffolk this morning and be taken to the I.O. Hill Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon.
