Hayes and widely know and prominently connected in Nansemond County, died tonight at 7 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. Owen Parker, at Whaleyville. She had been ill for a considerable time. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Whaleyville Methodist Church. The Rev. J.R. Taylor will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. J.S. Maxey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hayes is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Parker; three sons, Robert O. Hayes of Franklin; O.B. Hayes, of Norfolk, and Garland H. Hayes, of New York; seven grandchildren and the following stepchildren; George R. Hayes, Franklin; Mrs. W.B. Simpson, Franklin; Mrs. D.C. Johnson, Roanoke; Miss Annie Laura Hayes, Norfolk, and Mrs. Arthur D. Milteer, of Gary, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. C.G. Parker, of Franklin, and two brothers, Dr. Oscar Lee Owen, of Memphis, and R.W. Owen, of Williamsburg. Kate (OWENS; Mrs. Robert B.)
