WILLIAM MOUNTREVILLE HICKS 

            MOUNT HICKS 

  Suffolk, Va., Aug. 19 - Mount Hicks, an aged citizen of Crittenden, died 
Tuesday afternoon, in the seventy-fifty year of his age. 

  He is survived by a widow, fours sons, Andrew, Charles, Walter and Harry 
Hicks, and one daughter, Miss Bettie Hicks.  The Burial services were 
conducted at the grave in Crittenden cemetery yesterday at 2 o'clock. 

  The pall-bearers were George Wilkerson, Edward Carson, Victor Crittendon 
[sic; Crittenden], T.B. Billingston, Walter Lewis and C.E. Murteague.

He served in the James City Artillery - Co. H (1st), 32nd VA Infantry, as 
   Orderly Sergeant.
