All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WALTER HOLT HICKS Chuckatuck Man Dies at Age of 60 Walter Holt Hicks, aged 60 years, died at his home in Chuckatuck yesterday evening at 7 o'clock after a long illness. He was the son of the late William M. and Betty Richardson Hicks, of New Kent, Virginia. Hicks was a former boat captain and was a merchant during the recent years of his life. Surviving are three brothers, J.W. Hicks, of Chuckatuck, W. Andrews Hicks, of Richmond, and Harry Hendricks Hicks, of Eclipse, and one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Beasley, of Richmond. The body was taken to the R.W. Baker and company funeral home. Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from Mount Zion Christian church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. His father was a Confederate veteran, having served in the James City Artillery - Co. H (1st), 32nd VA Infantry, as Orderly Sergeant.
