Hogan, who died Friday at a local hospital after a long illness, were conducted at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Hill Funeral Home. Dr. S.T. Habel, pastor of the West End Baptist Church, officiated. A male quartet from the church, composed of A.L. Grant, S.W. Powell, J.C. Moore and D. W. Ewing, sang. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down the Valley One by One." Dr. Habel read the poem, "The Father's House." The casket was covered with a spray of pink carnations. Active pallbearers were H.H. Powell, Sr., Lewis Johnson, C.N. Sutton, Sr., Gilbert Darden, T.E. Ward, Sr., H.S. Miles, Sr., W.M. Wilkins and J.M. Lovelace. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. D.Cert. 5789 (Suffolk #74) gives son of Lewis F. & Margaret HOGAN; the informant was Mrs. Harrell SMITH, of Jacksonville, FL. Rather, he was a son of John & Delia M. (CONNELL) HOGAN, Irish immigrants who m. in Philadelphia. His father (b. ca. 1840) d. 20 Oct 1880 in Kings Co., NY.
