John C. Mitchell, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins, 75, of 306 Hill St., died Wednesday at 8:10 p.m. in Obici Memorial Hospital after a short illness. A native of Dinwiddie County, she was the widow of Walter Watkins Hawkins and a daughter of Benjamin Vernon and Mrs. Anthelear Salmon Rideout of Greenville County. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hopewell. Surviving are two sons, Walter Taylor Hawkins, with whom she lived in Suffolk, and Benjamin Luther Hawkins of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Annie Mae Stallings of Disputanta; a brother, Daniel Rideout of Franklin; and five grandchildren.
