MARY ELIZABETH BARLOW HEDGEPETH

   SUFFOLK - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Barlow Hedgepeth, 84, died Monday at 1:30 
p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Hancock of Holland Road.

   She was the widow of Zachariah Hedgepeth and a daughter of John Frank and 
Lavinia Holloway Barlow of Isle of Wight County.  She was a member of Liberty 
Spring Christian Church, Nansemond County.

   Besides the daughter with whom she made her home, she is survived by 
another daughter, Mrs. Marvin Underwood of Chuckatuck; a son, Clifford A. 
Hedgepeth of Nansemond County; a sister, Mrs. R.L. Wellons of Franklin; three 
brothers, J.A. Barlow of Smithfield, B.F. Barlow of Great Bridge and W.O. 
Barlow of Richmond; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in I.O. Hill Co. Funeral 
Home by the Rev. Dr. H.S. Hardcastle of Berea Christian Church, Driver, and 
Rev. C. Bailey Jones of West End Baptist Church, Suffolk.  Burial was in Cedar 
Hill Cemetery.
