HOWELL Funeral services for Claude F. Howell, formerly of Suffolk, and for the past twenty-five years a resident of Wilmington, N.C., who died suddenly Sunday night at Wilmington, will be held at Suffolk Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, with the Rev. Carl B. Craig officiating. Mr. Howell was a native of Southampton county [sic*]. He spent his earlier life in Suffolk. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jessie Nurney Howell; one son, Claude F. Howell, Jr., of Wilmington; and a brother, Ralph Howell of Asheville, N.C. A short service will be held at the home in Wilmington before the funeral party leaves for Suffolk. Interment will be in Cedar Hill cemetery. Mr. Howell was engaged in the building supplies' business at the time of his death, which was unexpected, caused by a heart attack. (FLYNN; Mrs. George W.) HOWELL, d. 15 Jan 1883, and was buried in a FLYNN family cemetery, Pantego, Beaufort Co., NC. Claude & Jessie m. 5 Feb 1908 in Suffolk. The Nansemond Co. M.Reg. (#34) gives his mother as Mary A. His parents m. 20 Jul 1876 in Beaufort Co., NC. Note that his father (b. circa 1854) is not identical with Capt. George Watson HOWELL of Buncombe Co., NC.
