CLARA MAE HARRELL HOWELL 

   HOLLAND - A funeral service for Mrs. Clara Mae Howell was conducted Friday 
at 3:30 p.m. in I.O. Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Carl Dollar. 
Burial was in the Holland Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Dwight Blythe, Harold Blythe, Ted Peace, Bobby Howell, 
Marvin Reid Jr., Robert Raiford, Howard Beale, and Will H. Wright Sr.

   Mrs. Howell, 78, died Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Louise Obici Memorial 
Hospital, Suffolk, after a long illness.

   A native of Nansemond County, she was a member of Holland Christian Church.

   She was the widow of William Henry Howell Jr. and a daughter of William H. 
and Mrs. Annie Mary* Jones Harrell.

   Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Henry H. Gardner and Mrs. Elmo Blythe of 
Franklin; four sons, W. Carroll Howell, Robert Stanley Howell, and F.H. Howell 
of Suffolk and Ernest R. Howell of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; and eight great 
grandchildren.
