Mrs. Ella C. Howell 

  Mrs. Ella C. Howell, aged 65, died at her home, near Holland, Monday night, 
July 8, at 11:30 o'clock. 

  Besides her husband, Thomas Howell, she is survived by one son, J.T. Howell, 
of Holland; two daughters, Mrs. Eula Dunford and Mrs. Nellie Rawls, of 
Portsmouth; one step-daughter, Mrs. Florence Shackelford, of Suffolk: one 
step-son, Willie Holland, of Camden, N.J.; one brother, Rufus Holland, of 
Holland; five sisters, Mrs. G.A. Piland, Mrs. Isaac Piland, and Mrs. S.B. 
Pruden, of Suffolk, and Mrs. Amos Piland and Mrs. Richard Howell, of Holland, 
and four grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were to be held at the home this afternoon at 3 p.m. with 
the Rev. N.G. Newman officiating.

She 1m. ca. 1888 widower Jacob E. HOLLAND, b. Dec 1851, son of Eley & Elmira. 
   They appear in the 1900 Census - Holy Neck Dist., Nansemond Co. - 
   on Owned Free Farm #288, with her step-children & 3 daughters. 

Her parents, Solomon Cyrus & Mary Virginia (HOLLAND) HOLLAND, 
   are buried in a HOLLAND family cemetery, on the farm of her brother 
   Rufus HOLLAND, near Holland.
