Carl Lee Ousley and the Rev. C. Carl Dallas. Burial was in Holland Cemetery. The body was taken from Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, to the church at 1 p.m. Pallbearers were J.M. Carr, Horace R. Turner, Willie Winborne, Harvey L. Councill, Joe Henry Gardner, Preston G. Holland, Everett L. Holland, George Ellis Harcum, Curtis Holland and William L. George. Howell, 74, a retired Route 2 farmer, died Monday in a Richmond hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and a member of Holland Christian Church and its Men’s Bible Class and Brotherhood. He was an Army World War I veteran and a member of Veterans of World War I, Barracks 1045. He was a son of Dempsey and Mrs. Holland Howell* and the husband of Mrs. Susie Johnson Howell. Surviving, besides his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Edith Fowler of Suffolk; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Adams of Nansemond County, Mrs. T.R. Owens of Emporia, and Mrs. Ernest Brinkley of Franklin; four grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
