PARKER D. HOWELL SR. 

  CHUCKATUCK - Parker Daughtrey Howell Sr., 78, died Thursday at 11:30 a.m. 
in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, after a long illness. 

  A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mattie Carr 
Howell and a son of the late William Henry and Mrs. Christiana Carr Howell. 

  He was a retired millwright. 

  He was a member of Oakland Christian Church and its I.W. Johnson Sunday 
School Class. 

  Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W.A. Howell of Portsmouth; 
four sons, P.D. Howell Jr. and Dr. R. Leroy Howell of Chuckatuck, Dr. Matthew 
J. Howell of Portsmouth, and Dr. Virgil Howell of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. 
Florence H. Drewery of Carrsville; and 12 grandchildren. 

  A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Sidney F. Harrell 
Funeral Home, Suffolk, by Dr. W. Millard Stevens.  Burial will be in Holly 
Lawn Cemetery.

  Funeral services for Parker D. Howell Sr., who died Thursday were held at 2 
p.m. Saturday at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by Dr. W. Millard Stevens. 
Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were W.G. Saunders Jr., Thurman Knight, Kenneth Eley, Henry 
Knight, James Floyd Turner, Al Saunders, Ray Howell and Jack Knight.
