MORTUARY 

  Funeral services were to be held at Holland this afternoon for George Thomas 
Howell, 65, who died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday at his home in Holy Neck district. 

  The rites were to be conducted by the Rev. Carl R. Key and the Rev. Dr. N.G. 
Newman.  Active pallbearers were Lozza and Rufus Byrd, Harvey Holland, Claude 
Bracey, David Howell and Barnes Ellis. 

  Mr. Howell is survived by a son, J.T. Howell, and two step-daughters, Mrs. 
Nellie Rawles and Mrs. Eula Dunford, of Portsmouth.

They appear in the 1910 Census - Holy Neck Dist., Nansemond Co. - 
   on Owned Free Farm #218; it gives George & his parents as b. in NC. 

They appear in the 1920 Census - Holy Neck Dist., Nansemond Co. - 
   on Farm #79 on Holland Rd. 

They appear in the 1930 Census - Holy Neck Dist., Nansemond Co. - 
   on Farm #57.
