HALL 1856* - 1921 The death of Wiley W. Hall, one of Suffolk's oldest residents, occurred Monday night at his home on Cherry Street, after a long illness. Mr. Hall had been married twice, his first wife being Miss Williametta Harrison. His second wife was Mrs. Annie Hall, who survives him. By his first marriage Mr. Hall had nine children and three by the second, all of them now living. They are Thomas Hall, of Isle of Wight; William Hall, of Norfolk; Mrs. Nancy Odom, of Ahoskie, N.C.; Mrs. Frances Saunders, of near Zuni; Floyd Hall, of Isle of Wight; Mrs. Elizabeth Elliott, of Norfolk; Mrs. Bessie Turner, of Windsor, Va.; Mrs. Sallie Garrison, of Norfolk; Mrs. Dora Williams, of Nansemond County. Those by the second marriage were Wiley Hall, Jr. and Frank and Fred Hall, of this city. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Antioch Christian Church by Rev. H.H. Butler, and the body was interred in the family lot at Antioch cemetery. Wiley William HALL (Sr.), huckster, b. HARRISON, 28 Mar 1876 in Isle of Wight Co. Their children Thomas H. HALL (1878 - 1955) & Mary Frances (HALL; Mrs. George W.L.) SAUNDERS (1884 - 1928) are also buried at Antioch - Mary also unmarked. Etta d. before Jun 1900. The 1900 Census - Rented Farm #318, Windsor Dist, IoW. - gives b. Dec 1857; widowed. He 2m. widow Annie R. (DUCK) LAVENDER, daughter of William & Mattie DUCK, 4 Nov 1915 in Suffolk (Nan.Co. #163) However, they appear together m. 6 yrs, with 3 sons & step-son Letcher LAVENDER, in the 1910 Census - Holy Neck Dist., Nan.Co.
