HOLLADAY, OF SUFFOLK, DIED FRIDAY PROMINENT CLUBWOMAN SUCCUMBS AT HOSPITAL Mrs. Elise Urquhart Holladay, wife of Frank Alto Holladay, active in social, civic, and religious activities in the State, died Friday at a local hospital. A daughter of the late Murdoch and Hettie Dillard Urquhart, Mrs. Holladay had resided in Suffolk. She was past president of the woman's auxilary of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia, and also past president of the woman's auxiliary of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and of the Randolph Society of the church. A Past President of the Suffolk Literary Club, and the Suffolk Woman's Club, Mrs. Holladay was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and chairman of the Tidewater Division of the Colonial Dames of Virginia. At the time of her death she was State corresponding secretary of the Garden Club of Virginia and a member of the Nansemond River Garden Club and one of its past presidents. She was also a member of the Poetry Society of Virginia, and had published a book of verse. Mrs. Holladay was an authority on flower culture, and her garden was one of the show places of Suffolk. Funeral services for Mrs. Holladay will be conducted at 4 P.M. Sunday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Suffolk, with the rector, the Rev. L.A.Haskell, in charge. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. Elise Harrison (URQUHART; Mrs. Frank A.)
