HOLLADAY KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. John Copeland Holladay Jr., 68, of 1046 Bay Drive Blvd., died Friday evening in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. He was a native of Suffolk and a former resident and was the husband of Mrs. Annie Lee Simpson Holladay. A son of Mrs. Jenny Patterson Long Holladay and the late John Copeland Holladay Sr., he was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Hiram Masonic Lodge #340, Suffolk Shrine Club, Khedive Temple of Norfolk, a charter member of the Portsmouth Consistory and an alumnus of Virginia Military Institute. Mr. Holladay was employed by the United States Post Office in Suffolk for 20 years as postal clerk. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Rexford Partington, Excelsior, Minn., Mrs. Shirley Rose of Chesapeake and Mrs. James Todd of Alexandria; two brothers, Dr. Beverly L. Holladay of Suffolk and Francis David Holladay of Norfolk; two stepdaughters, Mrs. P.D. Green, Gates, N.C. and Mrs. Randy Carter of Nansemond county; one stepson Marvin Roland Simpson of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. James H. Newsome with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave I. O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. today.
