HOLTON IS BURIED TODAY Funeral Services For Mrs. Annie King Holton, Who Died Saturday, Held At 3 P. M. Today. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Holton, widow of W.R. Holton, were held from the family residence in Lakeside this afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. Dr. John G. Truitt conducting the rites. Mrs. Holton died Saturday afternoon from an illness of long duration. She was 52 years of age. Her late husband died only a few weeks ago. Mrs. Holton was a member of an old and prominent Suffolk family, being the daughter of the late Woodville A. King and Mrs. Etta M. King. Surviving Mrs. Holton are four sons, Woodville, Jack and Kendall Holton of Suffolk, and W. Robert Holton, Jr., of Keyport, Washington; two daughters, Misses LeClaire and Ann Holton; three sisters, Mrs. Otis S. Smith, Jr., Mrs. Emma King Moseley and Miss Inez King. At the funeral services this afternoon a quartette composed of Mrs. Telza Miller, Mrs. Archie Smither, Arthur Herrick and Hersey Woodward, Jr., sang "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Nearer My God To Thee." The casket was covered with a pall of ascension lilies and asters. Burial was in the family plot at Cedar Hill cemetery. Active pallbearers included Edward and John Walter King, Claudius J. Riddick, Jr., R.B. Hill, Thomas Adkins, Dr. F.J. Morrison, J.W. Hollowell and Claud E. Eley. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. ****************************************************************************** ANNIE KING HOLTON Suffolk, Sept. 17. - Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Holton King [sic], widow of W.R. Holton, deceased, who preceded her to the grave a month ago, were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home in Lakeside, conducted by the Rev. John G. Truitt, D.D., pastor of the Suffolk Christian Church, in which Mrs. Holton held membership. A quartet from the church composed of Mrs. Telza Miller, Mrs. Archer Smither, Arthur Herrick and Hersey Woodward, Jr. sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee," and "Sometime We'll Understand." The casket was covered with a pall of Ascension lilies and asters, and there were many other beautiful floral designs. Active pallbearers were John Walter and Edward King, Claudius Riddick, R.B. Hill, Thomas Adkins, Dr. F.J. Morrison, J.W. Hollowell and C.E. Eley. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
