C. Halder [sic; Holden], 61 Years Old, Dies at Residence of Her Daughter in Newport News. After a lingering illness, Mrs. S.C. Halder, of Suffolk, died Saturday night at 9:45 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. B.B. Heath, in Newport News, aged 61 years. Mrs. Halder had made her home in Suffolk with her daughter, Mrs. George Johnson, until two weeks ago when she went to spend some time with Mrs. Heath. She grew steadily worse after going to Newport News until the end came. Mrs. Halder was a faithful member of the Suffolk Baptist church until failing health prevented her attending, being a woman of high Christian character and much beloved by her friends. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Murray, aged 95, two daughters, Mrs. George Johnson, of Suffolk, and Mrs. H.E. Heath, of Newport News; two sisters, Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Puryear, of Norfolk, and 14 grandchildren. Funeral service will he held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in Newport News and the body will be brought to Suffolk for burial in Cedar Hill cemetery at 4 o'clock.
