DIES IN NORFOLK HOLLAND - Ayler Job Holland, Sr., 64, former mayor of Holland and merchant here 42 years, died in a Norfolk hospital after a three-day illness Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. He served several terms as mayor. In 1919 he opened a general merchandise store, which later specialized in clothing. He was a member of Holland Christian Church and Holland Ruritan National founded here in 1928. A lifelong resident here, he was the son of Dr. Job G. Holland and Mrs. Mamie [sic; Nannie*] Jones Holland. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Betty Williams Tayloe Holland; a son, Ayler J. Holland, Jr., of Virginia Beach; and three grand-children, Cynthia Holland, Nancy Holland and Langley Taylor Holland of Virginia Beach. A funeral service was conducted in Holland Christian Church Friday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. C. Carl Dollar, pastor, with burial in Holland Cemetery.
