He had been sorely afflicted for about three months and suffered greatly. He leaves one brother, James H. Holland, Suffolk, Va., three sisters, Mrs. Marcella Butler, Carrsville, Va., Mrs. Pocahontas Britt, Suffolk, Va., and Miss Mary Holland, Philadelphia, Penn., three sons, Washington, Matthew, and Littleton; and a widow whose maiden name was Bettie Boyett. The deceased was a Confederate soldier in the 16th Va. Infantry. He had for many years been a member of Holland Baptist church and was a good man, passing away in bright hope of eternal glory. The funeral was conducted by the writer at the home and the remains placed in a family cemetery nearby. N.G.
