DANIEL BYRD HOLLAND

   Funeral services for Mr. Holland whose death occurred Monday, were 
conducted at Western Branch Baptist Church, Nansemond County, yesterday 
afternoon at 4 o’clock.  The Rev. Sidney Cobb, pastor of the church, 
officiated.  The choir sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee," "Old Rugged Cross," 
"Abide With Me" and "Face to Face."

   The services were largely attended and there were many beautiful flowers, 
the casket being covered with a pall of Easter lilies, white gladiolus and 
baby’s breath.

   The deacons of the church acted as honorary pallbearers, and the active 
pallbearers were John Daughtrey, John Williams, Emmett Benton, John Ashburn, 
J. Albert Johnson and Alphonso Pierce.

   Burial was in the family plot in the church cemetery.

b. 12 Jan 1857, Isle of Wight Co., d. 8 Jul 1935, Norfolk, 
interred in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery (Row 1, Plot 9*),
