He was a native of Isle of Wight County and the husband of Alice Goode Cahoon Holland. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a 33 year employee of the Virginia department of Taxation. He was a vestryman of Church of Our Saviour Episcopal Church, and a member of American Legion Post 144. Other survivors include three daughters, Martha Goode Tucker and Gena Calhoon Holland of Sandston, and Alice Holland Pauli of Quinton; a son, Edward Earl Holland Jr., of Goldsboro, N.C.; two sisters, Carolyse Howell of Suffolk, and Olivia McNulla of San Diego; and four brothers, Cecil Holland of Norfolk, James Emerson Holland of Suffolk, Randolph Holland of Emporia, and Elmo Holland of Texas. The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Harry Baldwin. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
