Holland Of Holland Dies Holland, Feb. 13 - Dr. Gilmer Gustave Holland, Sr., 59, died today at 4:10 p.m. at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital following a heart attack suffered at his office earlier in the day. Husband of Mrs. Grace Bailey Holland, of Holland, [he] was the son of Mrs. Nannie Jones Holland and the late Dr. Job G. Holland, of Holland. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Jane Holland, of Emporia; one son, Gilmer G. Holland, Jr., a student at VPI; one brother, Ayler Holland, of Holland. A lifelong resident of Holland, Dr. Holland began practice with his father here upon his graduation from the University of Richmond. He was a member of the Tri-County Medical Association, the Holland Christian Church, the Holland Ruritan Club, and a Shriner of the Khedive Temple, of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Holland Congregational Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. J.H. Lightbourne, Jr., pastor. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. The body will remain at the I.O. Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery with Masonic rites. ****************************************************************************** Rites Today For Dr. Gilmer Holland Funeral services for Dr. Gilmer Gustave Holland, Sr., 50, a prominent doctor of Holland, who died Friday afternoon at 4:10 p.m. at the Louise Obici Memorial Hospital following a heart attack suffered at his office earlier in the day, will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Holland Congregational Christian Church. The body will remain at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home until this afternoon at 1:30 p.m., at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state. The Rev. J.H. Lightbourne, Jr., pastor, will conduct the services. Burial will follow in the Holland Cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside. GILMER HOLLAND Funeral services for Dr. Gilmer Gustave Holland, Sr., of Holland, who died Friday at the Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, were held yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Holland Congregational Christian Church. The pastor, the Rev. J.H. Lightbourne, Jr., conducted the services. Burial took place at the Holland Cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside. The pall was of red roses, white carnations and freesia. Active pallbearers were Dr. Holmes Chapman, Dr. Ivan Steele, Dr. Beamon Story, Dr. John Graziani, Dr. Joe Waff, Sumner Rawles, L.P. Waldo, H.V. White and Tall Jones. Doctors of the Tri-County Medical Association, deacons of the church and friends of the family, served as honorary pallbearers.
