JETHRO HOLLAND

   HOLLAND - Jethro Holland, 80, the husband of Mrs. Lillie Maude Butler 
Holland, died Sunday morning in a Williamsburg hospital.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Jason and Mrs. Mary 
Butler Holland.

   He was a member of South Quay Baptist Church.

   Besides his widow, surviving are five sons, Lawrence Elmer Holland of 
Freer, Tex., Cecil Rhodes Holland of Norfolk, James Emerson Holland of 
Holland, Walton Randolph Holland of Emporia and Edward Earl Holland, of 
Sandston; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Howell of Franklin and Mrs. Robert 
Boyd of San Diego, a sister, Mrs. O.J. West of Suffolk; 31 grandchildren; 
and 25 great-grandchildren.

   A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland 
& Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. L.F. Smith.  Burial was in South Quay Church 
cemetery.  The family was at the home of Mrs. Carol Howell, Route 1, Franklin.

   Pallbearers were James A. Holland, Wayne Holland, Charles Holland, Seth 
Howell, Harry McNulla and William Ray Holland.
