Holland Funeral services for Jobie B. Holland will be conducted today at 4 p.m. at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home by Rev. J.H. Lightbourne, Jr. Burial will in the Holland Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Jobie B. Holland Buried at Holland Funeral services for Jobie B. Holland were conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home by the Reverend J.H. Lightbourne, Jr. The Church choir, accompanied by Mrs. Webb Pinner sang "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and also "Abide With Me." The casket pall consisted of a blanket of red roses, and white carnations. Burial was in the Holland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Beverly E. Ballard, E.L. Ballard, R. Wilkerson Holland, Paul Holland, Roy Worrell, Charlie Coffman, Clarence Daughtrey and Emmett Rawls. His sister Lillie J. HOLLAND & their mother Mary Elizabeth (HOLLAND) HOLLAND are also buried there. The 1900 Census - Holy Neck Dist., Nansemond Co. - gives b. Oct 1876. His WW-I draft card also gives b. 1 Nov 1875. D.Cert. 12634 (Holy Neck #8) His father was a Confederate veteran, having served in Co. F, 3rd VA Infantry. He d. 27 Sep 1877 and was buried in a family cemetery near Carrsville. Jobie's sister Lillie J. HOLLAND of Carrsville applied to the War Dept. for a headstone, 12 Dec 1930.
