W.H. Corbitt, assisted by the Rev. Carl R. Key, Dr. N.G. Newman and Dr. J.H. Lightbourne of Burlington, N.C. Burial was in the family cemetery near Holland. Active pallbearers were Dr. G.G. Holland, Howard Luke, Tom Hodsden of Washington, D.C., L.J. Daughtery, A.J. Holland, J.T. Jones, I.H. Luke, E.T. Batten, W.W Leathers, Warren Dalton. The Intermediate Girls’ Sunday School Class of the Holland Baptist Church were bearers of many beautiful Floral contributions. A solo, "Going Home," was sung by Mrs. Joe E. Holland and "Sunrise Tomorrow" was sung by Mrs. Vernon E. Holland, with Mrs. E.J. Howell as accompanist. At the grave W.W. Darden sang "Gathering Home." The casket was covered with a pall of red radiance roses.
