HOLLAND TAKEN BY DEATH Wife of the Late Elisha Holland Dies In Home of Son At Drum Hill, to Be Buried at Holy Neck Sunday Afternoon. Mrs. Mary E. Holland, wife of the late Elisha Holland, died last night at 8 o'clock at the home of her son, J.C. Holland, at Drum Hill, N.C., aged 78 [sic*] years, after a short illness. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Earl Beecham [sic; Beecham], of Nansemond county; Mrs. Douglas Lewis, Mrs. J.P. Hedgepeth [sic; Hedgebeth], Mrs. Henry Duke, and Mrs. Fenton Hedgepeth [sic; Hedgebeth], all of Holland, 29 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Holy Neck Christian Church, conducted by Dr. N.G. Newman. Holland, widow of Elisha Holland, who died last night at the home of her son, J.C. Holland, at Drum Hill, N.C. will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at Holy Neck Christian Church, by the Rev. Dr. N.G. Newman. Burial will be in the family cemetery near Holy Neck Church, in Nansemond County.
