Last Rites Are Held For Thos. B. Holland 

  Funeral services for Thomas Burgess Holland were held Sunday afternoon at 
4:30 at the Holy Neck Christian Church conducted by the Rev. Arnold Slater. 

  A quartet composed of Mrs. S.L. Wright, Mrs. J.O. Davidson, W.W. Darden and 
J.O. Davidson, sang the hymns "Does Jesus Care" and "Will The Circle Be 
Unbroken" accompanied by Mrs. E.L. Rawles.  A solo, "The End Of The Way," was 
sung by W.W. Darden. 

  There were many handsome floral tributes, and the casket was covered with a 
pall of Ascension lilies and red roses. 

  Active pallbearers: Jack Rawles, J.Q. Harcum, Cecil Lewis, John Britton, 
J.K. Jones. W.R Womble, Johnnie Howell, Lloyd Ellis.  Honorary pallbearers 
were friends of the family. 

  Interment was in the family cemetery near Holy Neck Church.

    b. 15 Apr 1882, Nansemond Co., daughter of Benjamin K. & Viola (BYRD)

    Family Cem., near Holy Neck, by I.O. Hill & Co. 

The family appears in the 1930 Census - Holy Neck Dist., Nansemond Co. - 
    at Farm #96, on the Holland to Whaleyville Rd.
