Whereas, our Heavenly Father has seen fit to remove from our midst our dear sister, M. Sadie Henderson - a lady of high character and intelligence and the president of the Social Union Society of Liberty Spring Christian church, we deem it proper to offer the following resolution of respect in memory of her useful life: 1 That in the death of M. Sadie Henderson our society has lost a faithful member, one who was ever ready to do what she could to promote its interests; and though we feel our loss with sadness, we bow in submission to His divine will, knowing that He doeth all things well. 2 That we shall ever cherish her memory, and though her kind and gentle voice we hear no more on earth, we have the blessed assurance of a happy reunion above. 3 That we extend to the bereaved family our deepest sympathy, and point them for comfort to that Saviour, whom she so early learned to love and trust. 4 That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family, a copy placed on the record of the Social Union Society and a copy forwarded to THE CHRISTIAN SUN for publication. MRS. D.P. RAWLES, MRS. R.F. RODGERS, MRS. I.T. BYRD. Committee. [...] At her home, near Cypress Chapel Christian church, Nansemond Co., Va., Aug. 12, 1902, Miss Martha Sadie Henderson, the beloved, beautiful and accomplished daughter of Bro. D.W. and Sister Josephine Henderson, aged twenty-two years, six months and twelve days. She was at the Sunday School Convention, which met at Holland and returned home and was taken with typhoid fever. Every thing was done that was possible to save her, but her time had come and she left her home below for her home in heaven without a tear save for the loved ones she held so dear. She will be greatly missed in her father's home, in her community and in her church. She was a good worker in the church and faithful in all the various duties of life. She made a profession of religion at the early age of 12 at Liberty Spring Christian church and united with Cypress Chapel church with her father and mother. She was a good school teacher and was greatly beloved by all the students, and patrons of the school at White Marsh public school. Her funeral services were conducted by her pastor at Cypress Chapel in the presence of a large congregation of weeping friends and her remains were carefully placed away in the church cemetery to await the coming of Him who loved her and died that she might live forever in that beautiful home. The Lord bless and comfort the bereaved family.
