Harris Services Held Saturday 

  Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Johnson Harris, who died Thursday at her home 
on North Street, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Baker Funeral Home 
by Rev. J.L. Lane. 

  Rev. J.I. Hart, accompanied, by Mrs. Helen Whitley, sang, "Shall We Gather 
At the River" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye."  The pall was of white and pink 
carnations and baby's breath. 

  Grandsons of the deceased served as pallbearers, J.R., E.H., William and Dan 
O. Harris, James Percell and Gilbert Luter.  Honorary pallbearers were Roy 
Dension [sic; Denson], C.E. Duck, Sam Chilton, R.E. Johnson, Fitzhugh 
Copeland, and John Griggs.

Find a Grave Memorial #249147493 [no grave photo] erroneously gives her 
   parents as James Washington & Margaret Ann (WEST) JOHNSON, both buried 
   in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery, near Carrsville. 

D.Cert. 13281 (Suffolk #156) gives parents unknown. 

Her parents, "Ben" Benjamin J. JOHNSON & Mary Jane DONOLY, m. 14 Nov 1850 
   in Southampton Co.
