HARGRAVE Suffolk, June 29 - Hundreds of friends gathered this afternoon at Main Street Methodist Church for the double funeral of Albert Hinton and his brother Clarence Eugene Hargrave. Services were conducted at 5:30 o’clock by Dr. A.L. Franklin, pastor of the church, assisted by Dr. H.E. Cramer, of Washington. The caskets were covered with palls of ascension lilies and white asters and gypsophila. During the services the hymns, "O God, Our Help in Ages Past" and "I Know Not What the Future Holds," were read by Dr. Franklin. Active pallbearers for Clarence E. Hargrave were John A. Vincent, J.J. Howell, Frawner Caulk, Causey Luke, William and Paul T. Cohoon, Jr., George Causey and James L. McLemore, Jr. Active pallbearers for A. Minton Hargrave were Julian Goodwin, C.A. Costen, H.S. Savage, F.J. Dunning, H.A. Wells, R.H. Rawles, J.E. Edwards and Ernest Rawles. Honorary pallbearers for both were Col. E.E. Holland, J.T. Withers, Herbert Holland, F.A. Holladay, Dr. L.W. White, Judge James L. McLemore, C.S. Forsburg, W.E. MacClenny, J.H. Corbitt, J.P. Lee, Guy Bain, H.M. Holland, Sherman Howell, C.J. Dennis, Sr., W.S. Beamon, G.A. Harris, H.S. Lewis, William Heintzman, V.L. Hill, T.A. Jordan, Dr. D.L. Rawls, J.B. Pruden, Bradford Kilby, S.M. Lawrence, G.W. Truitt, Jr., H.W. Phillips, W.F. Story, M.A. Cross, Dr. F.W. Godwin, J.F. Pinner, Jack W. Nurney, W.M. Birdsong, H.T. Jackson, I.O. Hill, J.M. Darden, Jr., V.G. Eberwine, C.B. Godwin, Jr. and C.B. Pond. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Among the many handsome floral designs were those from the Magazine Club, the National Bank of Suffolk, the Farmers’ Bank, directors and employees of the Farmers’ Bank, the Junior Woman’s Club, Main Street Methodist Church and Fellowship Bible Class of Main Street Methodist Church. Clarence died about 3:30 a.m. of coronary thrombosis, about 30 minutes after the doctor arrived. (D.Cert. 14143 {Suffolk #197}). Albert died at 3:45 p.m. of throat cancer. (D.Cert. 14142 {Suffolk #196}). "Suffolk (VA) News-Herald," Vol. 10, No. 208, Mon., Nov. 21, 1932, p. 1 Stricken Banker Is Moved to Hospital C.E. Hargrave, assistant cashier of the National Bank of Suffolk, who was stricken Saturday, November 5, was moved from his home, 438 North Main street, to the Virginia Hospital yesterday. His condition is termed satisfactory. While listening to the radio at his home more than two weeks ago Mr. Hargrave was suddenly seized by a stroke of paralysis. One side of his body was completely paralyzed and since that time he has been unable to talk. His condition has remained unchanged during the past two weeks. Mr. Hargrave has been attended by Doctors L.W. White, of Suffolk, and W.B. Martin, of Norfolk.
