Hargroves died at 9 o'clock last night at his home, near Deans. He had been ill several weeks with malaria, which had settled in the lower limbs. The funeral will take place at noontime to-morrow from Berea Christian Church. The burial will be in Suffolk, and will be conducted by Masons. All members of that order in Suffolk are asked to take part. The deceased was about 55 years old. He was formerly a prominent trucker, but had of recent years been engaged in the commission business. Mr. Hargroves' wife, who was Miss Fannie Day Eley. died a few years ago. One son survives, Denby. The dead was a brother of Claude Hargroves, of Norfolk; Dr. Legare Hargroves, Nansemond county, and Mrs. Jordon, wife of the Democratic House nominee, Walter Jordon. ****************************************************************************** E. D. HARGROVES' OBSEQUIES. The remains of the late Edward D. Hargroves were laid away at 3 o'clock this afternoon in Cedar Hill Cemetery, the exercises being conducted by Masons. The funeral was preached in Berea Church at noon by Dr. W.W. Staley and Rev. N.G. Newman, concluding which services the cortege came to Suffolk. These were pall-bearers: Walter Jordan, L.A. Deans, J.W. Bidgood, R.H. Williamson, J.E. Jordan and S.J. Parker.
