Hargrave [sic; Hargroves] Suffolk, Va., Dec. 9. - (Special.)- Mrs. Fannie D., wife of Mr. E.D. Hargrove, of Lower Parish, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Jennie Portlock, Kilby street, whom she was visiting. The deceased had been in ill health for many months, and her death, while not unexpected, was none the less painful to the community. The deceased was the sister of Mrs. Upshur Kilby, Mrs. E. W. Duke, Mrs. Jennie Portlock, Misses Nimmo and Josephine Eley, and Messrs. Walter W., William, and W.A.B. Eley. She leaves one son, Mr. Denby Hargrove, a young man about twenty-two years of age. The funeral occurred this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Christian Church, Rev. W.W. Staley, D.D., officiating. The interment was in Cedar Hill cemetery, the following serving as pall-bearers: Messrs. Calvin Nelms and H.E. Smith, of Suffolk; Captain Thomas Gaskins, W.D. Bidgood, Willis Lee and E.J. Driver, of Lower Parish. Fannie Day (ELEY; Mrs. Edward D.)
