ERNEST CLIFTON HORTON 

E.C. HORTON, 59 WINDSOR, BURIED 

  Ernest Clifton Horton, 59, Windsor, son of the late Julius T. and Olivia 
Savage Horton, died at his home after a short illness April 28.

  He is survived by his wife Mrs. Beulah Nelms Horton; two sons, Ernest C. 
Horton, Jr. of Harrisburg, Pa., and Capt. Edward V. Horton of the U.S. Army, 
stationed in the South Pacific; two grandchildren, Ernest C. Horton, III and 
Mary E. Horton; one brother S. Jeter Horton of Norfolk and a sister, Miss 
Mary E. Horton.

  He was an employee of the Norfolk & Western Railroad Company for 38 years, 
and served as agent at Windsor, the Windsor Ruritan Club, a member of A.F. & 
A.M. Lodge No. 246, of Waverly, the Isle of Wight County electoral board and 
the Windsor Baptist Church.

  Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 by the Rev. W.V. Carroll, 
of the Windsor Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Fred C. Wright of the 
Windsor Christian Church.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
