JOSEPH KENNETH HORTON 

KENNITH [sic; KENNETH] HORTON 

  The body of Kenneth Horton, 23 year-old so nand [sic; son and] only child 
of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Horton of Crittenden arrived at Suffolk Wednesday morning 
at 7:41 o'clock over the Southern Railway, and was taken to Crittenden 
Cemetery Wednesday at 2 p.m.  Services were conducted by the Rev. A.K. 
Lambdin and the Rev. C.C. Clarke.

  Mr. Horton was killed last Saturday in the explosion of the Dillwyn.

His gravestone, pictured with his Find a Grave Memorial, #102292293, 
   shows d. 27 Dec 1936.  His parents, Jos. Wallace & L. Grace (SPIERS) 
   HORTON, are buried there also. 

Louisiana death records give d. 28 Dec 1936. (Ancestry.com) 

That Saturday was 26 Dec 1936. 

The LoC's Chronicling America database does not have a Louisiana newspaper 
   online for the date [none after 1922]. 

The explosion was covered briefly in the Fort Myers (FL) "News-Press," 
   Sunday, Dec. 27, 1936, p. 2.
