Horton of Crittenden arrived at Suffolk Wednesday morning at 7:41 o'clock over the Southern Railway, and was taken to Crittenden Cemetery Wednesday at 2 p.m. Services were conducted by the Rev. A.K. Lambdin and the Rev. C.C. Clarke. Mr. Horton was killed last Saturday in the explosion of the Dillwyn. His parents, Jos. Wallace & L. Grace (SPIERS) HORTON, are buried there also. Louisiana death records give d. 28 Dec 1936. (Ancestry.com) That Saturday was 26 Dec 1936. The LoC's Chronicling America database does not have a Louisiana newspaper online for the date [none after 1922]. The explosion was covered briefly in the Fort Myers (FL) "News-Press," Sunday, Dec. 27, 1936, p. 2.
