M. Funeral services for Hersey H. [sic; Wm. Hersey] Harrell, who died yesterday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maude Nelson [sic; Melson] in Craddockville, Eastern Shore, Va., with whom he had made his home for several years, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the grave in Cedar Hill cemetery. Besides Mrs. Nelson, he is survived by another daughter, Ethel Mancuso of Suffolk, and three grandchildren. (BRINKLEY; Mrs. James J.) HARRELL (1824 - 1902), is also buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Find a Grave Memorial #190774362 gives her as Mary Jane HARRELL; the name is illegible in the gravestone photo. An obit in the "Norfolk Landmark," Feb. 15, 1902, p. 6, gives Sarah Jane HARRELL. D.Cert. 26729 (Pungoteague #27) gives his father as William Henry HARRELL; the informant was his daughter Maude Ethel (HARRELL MUNFORD; Mrs. John Thomas) MELSON. The 1900 Census - Cypress Dist., Nansemond Co. - gives b. Dec 1867. He is buried with his first wife Idell (DIXON) HARRELL (1872 - 1903). He 2m. Addie M. SMITH, daughter William T. & Mary Elizabeth (HOSIER) SMITH, 27 Sep 1905 in Gates Co., NC. Her parents are buried in the William SMITH family cemetery in Chowan Co., NC.
