HARRELL Funeral services for Mrs. Liddie E. Harrell, widow of Augustus Harrell, were conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Somerton Friends’ church, Box Elder, by the Rev. James R. Stein, assisted by the Rev. Arnold Slater. The church choir accomplished by Miss Lois Rabey, sang, "Sometime We’ll Understand," and "It Is Well With My Soul." A solo, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," was sung by W.W. Darden. A pall of white carnations and pink roses covered the casket. Active pallbearers Capt. O.M. Nancy, Alva Norfleet, John Lewter, Lloyd Gardner, Louis and Robert Duke, Robert March, Clem Harrell. Burial was in the church cemetery. "Liddie" Lydia E. (DAVENPORT; Mrs. H. Augustus) HARRELL, Edgecombe Co., NC native, d. 28 Mar 1942, at home, near Holland, age 61, interred in Somerton Friends’ Meeting Cemetery*, donated obit, newspaper unknown *Somerton Friends’ Meeting list, an extension of the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/nansemond/cemeteries/somefr.txt Her mother, Susan A. (Mrs. Jas. Stanley) DAVENPORT (1834-1916), is buried in a DAVENPORT family cemetery, Pitt Co., NC.
